Summary: In response to valuable stakeholder feedback, the Platte County School District has undertaken an initiative to develop a comprehensive behavior management system. Through extensive research and consultation, our district team has conducted over 36 individual interviews and distributed thought exchange surveys to each building leadership team to gain insights into the needs of our teachers and building personnel. Based on the feedback received, it has become evident that there is a pressing need to establish a cohesive PreK-12 behavior management system. After thorough research and consideration, we have decided to formalize our commitment to the Safe and Civil Schools behavior management framework. As part of our plan, we have committed to a three-year implementation process for the Safe and Civil Schools framework. Beginning in the 2024-2025 school year, every teacher will receive two full days of training on Tier 1 behavior support. Building and district leaders, as well as all coaches (behavioral and instructional), will also undergo two days of training. Additionally, each staff member will receive materials tailored to their specific job roles and their connection to the behavior framework. The total cost for the first year of implementation is projected to be $79,112.00, exclusive of travel expenses. It is anticipated that we will utilize Title funds to cover 100% of this expenditure. In the subsequent years, the focus will shift towards training on Tier 2 and 3 behavior support. We believe that the establishment of this behavior management system will enhance the overall learning environment and promote positive behavioral outcomes for all students. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
