Summary: Northland Career Center (NCC) continues to identify facility enhancements to improve the learning environment and support our current programs. As part of these improvements, NCC advertised a Request for Proposal (RFP) on Monday, April 11th to seek bids for a portable divider wall in the Culinary Arts dining area. The cost of this divider wall will be supported through the use of Enhancement Grant Funds and GEERS II Funds. The combined grant funds will allow the project to be completed in a 75/25 format with 75% of the cost
being supported by state reimbursement. This divider will allow NCC to host community engagement meetings and professional development experiences for students without having to interrupt instruction.

The final project completion will result in a fully functional divider wall that will allow for the space to be segmented for multipurpose use including such experiences as dining/meeting room, instructional space/classroom and kitchen. The wall can be opened to support the monthly Platte City Chamber of Commerce Event and other community events.

NCC advertised the RFP for 15 days in an effort to seek bids. A formal bid opening was conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 25th (see bid tabulation attached). We are recommending Abbey Simons Corporation to purchase and install the divider and Kansas City Structural Steel to do the prework/steel work needed to support the divider.
