Summary:
|
The proposed Professional Services Agreement between NLS Education, LLC and Platte County R-3 School District is for the 2024/2025 school year (effective from August 1, 2024 through, and including dismissal of, the regular academic session of the 2024/2025 school year).
Personnel with this specific level of skill are extremely difficult to recruit and hire, therefore, District administration is recommending contract renewal with NLS Education, LLC. A successful business partnership has been established and we have found NLS to have exceeded expectations when providing services.
The District is required to only pay for the hours used to provide vision services to students - generally, IEP minutes served, collaboration, assessment, and IEP participation. This varies due to student need/requirements, but cost of professional services provided is based on the $90/hour rate. Additionally, the District is responsible for travel fees at $90/hour, however, NLS typically schedules by “stacking” travel to PCR3 with other smaller, rural districts in order to provide the most efficient use of time and least amount of cost to the District. Typically, flat hourly travel rates are common with itinerant specialists.
