Summary:
|
Dr. Keith Jones, Principal at Platte County High School, will introduce the Arrive Alive sponsors - Gail Martin, Heather Brown, and Jerri Spores - and students - Demi Riechers, Abby Reynolds, Lydia Doole, Jack Edwards, and Mikayle Gillilan - who participated in the planning and coordination of the recent event at PCHS. Members of PCHS Pirates Serve, DECA, Student Council, and FBLA planned another successful Arrive Alive event in late March. This event, designed to raise awareness about distracted driving, has been hosted at PCHS for many years in collaboration with many community partners with the common goal of promoting safe driving for teens. Classes heard from guest speakers from ThinkFirst, whose mission is to prevent traumatic injuries through education, research, and advocacy. Students also interacted with various vendors (experts from law enforcement, emergency services, insurance agencies, MODOT, Tri-County Mental Health, Platte County Prosecutor's Office and the Platte County Health Department) and participated in various exhibitions and simulation stations.
