Summary: Coach John Sipes, along with the team members from the 2021/2022 Platte County High School Baseball Team, will provide an overview of their experiences in securing the title in the Class 5 high school state championship.

Road to the Championship:

The Pirates concluded their regular season with a record of (21 – 8) and defeated the Smithville Warriors (10 – 8) in the Class 5 District 8 championship game on Thursday, May 19, 2022.

On Saturday, May 28, 2022, the Pirates hosted the Webb City Cardinals in the Class 5 quarterfinals on the most beautiful baseball field in the State of Missouri. A crowd of over 500 fans from Platte County and Webb City watched the Pirates roll to an 11-7 win on the newly constructed Pirate Baseball Field, sending the Pirates to their first Final Four since 2002.

The Final Four games were played at US Ballpark in Ozark, MO. The Pirates defeated the Ft. Zumwalt East Lions 5-3 on Friday, June 3, 2022 and then with a 6-1 win over the Festus Tigers in the Class 5 state championship game on Saturday, June 4, the Pirates capped their memorable season off by securing their second state title in program history.
