Summary:
|
Each year, the Platte County R-3 School District contracts the snow and ice management services for the District. It has been seven (7) years since we bid these services, therefore this year, we sent a Request for Proposal (RFP) for these contracted services. We had two (2) contractors respond to the RFP and provide a proposal/bid for the services. We requested contractors provide a “lump sum” price for all services/all season, a “per push and per salt” price, and also pricing for years two and three in the proposal/bid.
It is our recommendation to enter into a three (3) year contract with Metro Snow Contractors, LLC. Metro Snow was the lowest bid for all services. The District is recommending the selection for the “per push and per salt rate” for the 2022/23, 2023/24, and 2024/25 school years. The proposal did see a rate increase of approximately 26% for “per push and per salt” rates for year one (2022/23), but only an average of 5% increase for years two and three (2023/24 and 2024/25).
