Summary: In September 2023 the Paxton Center elevator became inoperable due to a control board malfunction. Working with our elevator service company, it was determined that the main control board needed to be rebuilt, and procurement for the control board was approximately 40 weeks. During the control board rebuild process it was discovered that the Paxton Center elevator control board is obsolete and could not be rebuilt per elevator code. Due to the control board being unable to be repaired a full elevator rebuild will be necessary to ensure that the Paxton Center elevator is fixed to code and to maintain the longevity of its operational use. An advertisement for bid was sent to potential vendors November 21, 2023, and a pre-bid meeting was held at Paxton Center December 4, 2023. Two vendors attended the pre-bid meeting (Otis and MEI Total Elevator Solutions). Bids were due to the district office at 12:00 on December 6, 2023. Two vendors submitted a bid. A bid summary sheet is attached for your reference.
